We are delighted to inform you that we plan to follow up the Isle of Wight Birth Cohort.
This study aims to understand how asthma and other allergic problems change during early adult life. Although our research is focusing on asthma and allergy it is extremely important that we review people with and without these conditions. Almost 70 percent of the participants recruited into this study took part in the follow-up at 26 years. The data we have been able to collect from all those taking part in this cohort has been incredibly useful in helping us to understand how asthma and other allergic diseases develop through childhood into early adult life. The information collected from the study is being used by doctors across the world when they manage young people with asthma and other allergic problems.
If you would like to take part in this follow-up you can contact the study team at The David Hide Asthma and Allergy Centre, St Mary’s Hospital, Newport, Isle of Wight; phone/text: 07710 229794; or email: [email protected].
